Let's Talk About Joints!

We want to talk about joints that allow our elbows and knees to bend and move. We all have a naturally occurring molecule in our bodies called SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine). To better understand its importance, we examine a process known as “methylation.” Methylation is a simple transaction in which SAMe donates a methyl group (four-atom appendage) to a neighboring molecule within our body. These transactions have far-reaching effects that affect everything from fetal development to brain function. They can regulate the expression of genes and various hormones including serotonin, melatonin, dopamine, and adrenaline as well as preserve fatty membranes that insulate our cells.

As we continue to age, there is a natural decline in this molecule, which could eventually lead to joint pain. Over 30 percent of Americans suffer from chronic joint pain, and many of them will turn to a prescription drug in the form of an anti-inflammatory or painkiller. Unfortunately, these have potentially adverse effects and may even lead to addiction. In order to naturally replenish these diminishing levels, the best (and safest) option is to implement SAMe into your daily routine through dietary supplements.

Vesta’s SAMe is a synthetic replication of this naturally occurring molecule. It is not an herb, drug, hormone or vitamin, rather it is a highly reactive molecule and key cellular nutrient with minimal side effects. It is a simple replacement of something that already exists within the body. Our SAMe is not only good for the joints but it also supports liver heath and because of its regulation of serotonin and dopamine; it can even help lift a person’s mood. This makes Vesta’s SAMe a triple-threat benefit!
